As a direct result of the globalised world, more and more couples are getting married abroad. Getting married outside of one’s own country may be a great opportunity for couples with different nationalities, or for those who prefer a wedding with a more exotic location. A wedding organised abroad however means a lot more planning and legal hassle. In our present article, we have summarised the main aspects of Hungary’s standpoint on marriages contracted outside of Hungary.

When two parties reach the point where they decide to continue their lives separately, there are many issues that need to be resolved and clarified. One of these important points is the fate of their children, i.e. which parent will be the children's place of residence, when and how the children are entitled to contact the other parent, who is entitled to decide on matters concerning the children, how which parent contributes to the maintenance of the children, and the list goes on. 

The term ’sharenting’ first appeared in the international media, as a mixture of the words ’share’ and ’parenting’. This term refers to parents who share an excessive amount of their – usually infant – child on the internet. In this article, we introduce the dangers and legal aspects of sharenting.

When can a condominium be established?

A condominium can be established for an existing or to-be-constructed building if it contains at least two units that can be registered as separate ownerships, which can either be residential or non-residential premises. Any other parts of the building become the common ownership of the co-owners.

An amendment to the provisions of the Civil Code on the exercise of joint parental responsibility entered into force on the 1^st January 2022, according to which the legislator allows the court to decide on joint exercise of parental custody and alternate custody even at the request of only one of the parents, provided that it is in the best interests of the minor child.
